Who are we to judge?

I was brought up in a home where I was taught to be fiercely independent. I would constantly hear my mother lecturing me about my future. "Go to college, make good grades and acquire a professional career" she said. In a society where women were once viewed as the inferior sex, it is difficult for some of the younger generations of women to understand that it is okay to want a life as a wife and mother. Too often women are told from very young ages that they need to get an education, a professional career and be financially stable-- without the aid of the other gender. I am not saying that women should not strive to attain these things, I am only trying to convey the message that not all young women want to be surgeons, doctors or executives.
