The annual Downtown Corpus Christi Art Walk was held last Thursday and this month’s theme was Mardi Gras in keeping with the spirit of the yearly February celebration.
Green, purple and gold streamers and beads were hung and given out to the crowd who, despite the rain, went on the walk to enjoy the art.
The House of Rock dimmed their lights to set an intimate mood. More art was projected on a screen hanging above the stage and Aaron Yverra enhanced the mood further with music.
Artist Mark Zuazua displayed his talent by painting a pair of shoes on site while Rick Osbourne painted a mural that was auctioned later.
At Produce, a studio featuring graphic artists on the rise, art was displayed in a window and DJs Bagame and Sonora performed in another part of the gallery.
A main attraction at Produce was a sequence of three doors used as a canvas that when placed together created a city scene.
Artist Noe Ortiz said he was surprised that a younger crowd admired his art.
More Art Walk events are scheduled and details can be found at texashouseofrock.com.
