CD Review

If you ever wanted to experience a different culture without actually having to purchase a plane ticket and travel, listen to the CD “Caballero Del Mar” by Primal Sky.

Coming from a beginning Spanish student’s perspective, I can honestly say I did not understand many of the lyrics, but the rhythm and flow of the beats represented what the artists were trying to convey.

The music creates a positive aura and puts you in a very reflective mood, which I quite enjoyed.

If it is a love song, such as “Eres Hermosa,” the sway of the music conveys the soft tones of the song and tells the soul of the love story.

Not all of the songs on the CD are in Spanish and many of them are a mixture of English and Spanish, which is nice for the beginning Spanish student.

“Flamenco Beach” is a song that will quickly get stuck in your head, but luckily, it’s not one of those that will irritate you while trying to work or focus on something.

This is the perfect CD to listen to when trying to wind down after a busy day or getting energized for a casual girls’ night out.

All in all, this collection of songs reminds me of the Calgon perfume commercial: It’ll “take you away.”
