DMC adjunct instructor Cheri Milam Roman of Advertising and Sales Promotion debuted a CD (“Child your Not Alone”) for a heart transplant foundation.

For the past 22 years, Roman has worked in financial services industry and music took upon a big part of her life. After 25 years, she has come to a place in her life in which she pursues both music and business.

“After a fulfilling and rewarding success I have finally recorded and produced an album of original songs. Debuting ‘Child You’re not Alone’ has been a blessing,” said Roman. The CD was released on January 15. The music was written to help Taylor Berry, a young 14-year-old boy from Corpus who needs a second heart transplants.

A week after Christmas, Taylor was officially put on a heart transplant list and is in close touch with a hospital until a heart becomes available in Houston.

Her CD began after Taylor and his mother heard Roman sing. She recorded some songs for them to listen to and the seed was planted got the “Child your Not Alone” album.

“When I met Taylor for the first time two years ago, I was so inspired by his spirit and courage that I sat down at my piano and started writing the title on the track,” said Roman. Each song has a direct message inspired by Taylor family.

The CD is $10 and can be purchased through cdbaby.com and at various local retailers. All retailers are listed on www.myspace/ cherimilamroman.com. Individual songs can be downloaded for 99 cents each or the whole album for just $5.94.

Additional tax-deductible donations can be directly to: The Taylor Berry Heart Transplant Foundation, c/o American Bank, P.O. Box 60784, Corpus Christi, TX 60784.
