As the saying goes, “All great things must come to an end.”
I call bull**** on that saying.
Great things don’t ever have to come to an end, so long as you know when to turn the page. As the semester comes to an end, so does this chapter in my life.
Great things have happened during my tenure as the editor in chief, but now it’s time to open a new, more exciting chapter, not only for myself, but also for everyone on this crew.
Some will be moving on to new schools to continue pursuing the dream. Others will assume leadership positions on the Foghorn. I will finally step down and into a new seat on the staff.
I must say it has been one hell of a ride. We have seen many changes on campus. We have witnessed the college go through some very difficult times and have also witnessed growth among those who remain loyal.
People have come and gone, some at a faster rate than others, some we loved and some we just loved to see go away.
During my tenure as editor in chief, our team succeeded in bringing home a multitude of awards. We also turned in some content that had people talking and frustrated many, but as we did, we served our purpose of creating an awareness of topics that affected Del Mar College as a whole.
Our stories created a wide variety of emotions and I make no apologies for them. Everything we did, I supported 100 percent.
Now, I hand over the torch, although I will still be part of this incredible staff in another capacity.
All good things don’t have to come to an end; they just have to continue moving forward in order to remain successes.
I refuse to leave this place, at least right now – so to Krista Torralva (our new editor in chief), I say: “Here are my keys – you can pry them from my cold, dead hands.” Muahahahaha!!!
