This is unbelievable . . . years and years have gone by and bullying seems to still exist in our public schools.
I think to myself, "Some things never change!" and there is a lot of truth to that. Just recently another child accosted my nephew, who attends Flour Bluff Elementary, at the school.
Apparently the "bully" took advantage of my nephew by taking his dessert at lunch and telling my nephew that he would give him a bunch of desserts at the end of the year.
Of course, my nephew believes this story and happily gives the kid his dessert. Any adult would know better than to give something away without a guarantee, but we are dealing with seven-year-old children here.
You can tell them that Ben 10 runs a secret operation under the White House with the Keebler Elves as his advisors and they'll believe you.
However, that does not mean that they cannot figure things out quickly. After a couple of days, my nephew picked up on this horse crap and told his mom.
After a stern talking to by the principal, the other kid backed off. This is all well and good, but the problem still lingers in schools all over the country on a larger scale.
Bullying is a cowardly, awful and spiteful thing to do to anyone, whether you're a child in an elementary school or in the corporate world.
Nobody likes to be bullied – it's humiliating, emasculating for men, and just completely immature.
People need to learn to be courteous and professional, and that starts with proper upbringing.
Raising a child to be polite and treat others the way they want to be treated will usually result in a child who is polite and courteous in their adult life.
If not, well then they will always take your dessert.
