Living your college life at home can be an interesting experience; you have your parents to help you in any they can.
They help provide you with guidance, monetary aid, and an occasional criticism of your living conditions in your room.
You don’t have to worry about starving to death because your mom will cook for you and make you your favorite dish.
But even if you feel blessed that you have the comforts of college and home life, it does not mean you are without the headaches and aggravation.
Just a little while ago, my mother called me asking me if I remembered to call my cousin Taylor to talk to him about joining the Navy, but she asked if I spoke to his father Brandon and not his son.
I made the correction that I needed to speak to his son Taylor, and told in her in Spanish “not to worry.” She made a pithy reply about not knowing that I spoke Spanish and to call my father because he needed something from me.
I called him and he didn’t answer. I called my father a second time with him picking up finally and asked him what he wanted.
He didn’t recognize me, so I told him it was his son and asked him again what he wanted. My father said he didn’t know what I was talking about and about that time I was going to tear the hair out of my skull! (or lack thereof). My mom reminded my father of the situation and he finally remembered what it was he wanted.
He wanted me to move out of my room so my sister can move back in with her son and I have to live on the couch. Isn’t living at home grand?
It’s got its ups and downs, but you never have to pay rent and they will always love you, no matter what. Be prepared to put up with constant nagging from time to time.
