Mad Rush - Trying to capture moments during election night
11/3/10 11:50 PM
Last night may have been the most challenging, yet exciting times ever as a photographer...and with good reason. It was election night and trying to drive all over town and be five places at the right moment was the true challenge. My goal: Get "reactions" Being non-partisan, I have no true alliance to one party, yet, I expected outcomes that many in South Texas expected. We all knew that Republicans would probably take a majority vote nationally, but still, I believed that grass roots Democrats in South Texas would still hold strong. This would prove to be false as I approached my first destination, which in turn would dictate the order of my next stops for the rest of the night. I arrived at the Democratic Headquarters just prior to early results expecting to capture...The "Que Onda" Blog - part 4

We played them inside and outside. We took them to Catechism classes every Saturday and played them during recess. We sounded them off at the beginning of our makeshift war games or when we pretended to be part of the Roy Miller High School Battlin’ Buccaneer Band, marching up and down the street performing our half time extravaganza to an invisible audience. We even played them during the R-rated...The "Que Onda" Blog - part 3

We have all experienced this. Heck, I’m having one right now as I write this column. Yes, it can happen to the best of us and the cause is inexplicable, at least until now. In January, according to an online source, the name slips my mind right now, neuroscientists have been able to determine the cause of the “brain fart,” known...The "Que Onda" Blog - part 2

It happens from time to time, but it usually happens out of necessity. For instance, when I turned 37-years-old, I realized that I had to try something new in order to retain my comfort levels, so I tried on a size 12 shoe after wearing a size 11 for10 years (I was a size 10 when I graduated from high-school.) Then there is the change from XL to 2XL to 3XL and back... and forth… it’s a long story, but I yo-yo more than Oprah, except my weight issues are not as obvious and I don’t have millions of dollars to fall back...The "Que Onda" Blog - part 1

We’ve all come across situations where we’ve had to stop and ask, “Isn’t that ironic?” You hear stories in the news about people getting into predicaments that you would have never thought would happen to them. For example, a gynecologist being arrested for lewd behavior in a strip bar or Jean Claude Van Dam being knocked...
