Here are my 2010 NFL predictions: Division Winners NFC South: New Orleans Saints Those who don’t agree with this pick will say the Saints will have a down year, a Super Bowl hangover. They will say the Saints were too lucky to be that good again this year, there defense relied heavily on turnovers, a stat that is inherently lucky, and doesn’t usually carry over from year to year. They will say the Saints are less hungry, that teams don’t repeat in the NFL, that Matt Ryan and the Falcons are coming into their own as a team and will over take them. Here is what I say, teams in the NFL that have a great quarterback and a great coach are successful in the NFL, and right now the Saints have a top 5 quarterback and coach. NFC North: Green Bay Packers ...Say it ain't so Joe

USA TODAY - Some say you don't mess with a good story. Some say you always tell the truth, no matter what. When it comes to the movie Rudy, Joe Montana belongs to the latter group, even if it does mess with the football lore of his college, Notre Dame. Montana, on the Dan Patrick Show today, said the movie about Fighting Irish walkon Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger getting into the final game of the 1975 season got a few things wrong. Like the part about the crowd chanting "Rudy" at game's end, in hopes he would get in. And also the part about coach Dan Devine letting Rudy suit up only after a parade of players came to his office and offered to give up their jerseys to Rudy. "It's a movie, remember," Montana said. "Not all that's true . . . The crowd wasn't...NFL Preview: Breakout players of the year
9/9/10 1:54 AM
One thing that is guaranteed virtually every NFL season, is that there will be breakout stars, players that rest in anonymity tonight will be stars by the season ends. Miles Austin was the most notable breakout star in the NFL last year, but there were plenty of them to go around. Want to know who this years NFL breakout stars will be? Read on. First let me tell you ahead of time that I don’t consider rookies breakout stars, and while some people may, for the purpose of this blog, breakout stars are players with two or more years in the league that have gone relatively unnoticed thus far in their careers. Breakout Quarterback of the 2010 NFL season: Matt Moore I have watched Moore closely since he came into the league as a undrafted rookie free agent that spent his first...NCAA Opening weekend recap: What's in a win?

In college football one loss can kill you, so anytime you come out of game with a ‘W’, you take it. Knowing that, how much should fans take out of the way their teams won this weekend? Does it affect your outlook on your teams season? Does it change the way you feel about your team? Does it phase you at all? Fans of Oregon are feeling pretty good today, after an offseason of uncertainty due to losing Senior Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, unknown commodity Darron Thomas eased the worry of Masoli’s loss by helping the Ducks put up 72 points Saturday. Let’s gauge how the Oregon Ducks fans are feeling after the 72-0 beating they gave New Mexico. How they are feeling: I’ve been impressed that Oregon fans have been able keep tempered about their...
