Someone once asked Roger Hornsby what he does in winter when there is no baseball. Hornsby replied, "I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for Spring."
The wait for Spring is over and last Thursday the Hooks held their home opener at Whataburger field after starting the season with two series on the road.
The Hooks felt right at home in their return, rallying behind their great fanfare to beat the Tulsa Drillers 4-0.
The Hooks' 5-2 start (at that point) is finally giving their faithful fans something to cheer about.
After finishing last season tied for last place in the Texas League and watching their Major-League affiliate Astros take nine games to finally tally up a win, the fast start has been met with great appreciation.
