Attention basketball fans – the Men’s Five-on-Five Basketball Tournament is almost over and only six games remain until the championship match next Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, the Vikings barely beat the Slugz 54-51. This close call sent them into overtime as each team struggled to be the victor.
Vikings player Mike Medellin said, “ I feel confident that we can make it to championship, we have a good chance of winning.”
The Vikings are not the only team that has a good chance of making it to the championship game. The Brett Favre is God team is 6-1 and they show no signs of slowing down.
“We are the only team that beat Brett Favre is God, we need to get more organized and we have a good chance of competing against them, said James Fisher of the Vikings.
Brett Favre is God won their last game against X-Factor with a 22-point lead, ending the game on a score of 90-68.
Frances O’Donnell of Brett Favre is God said, “It was a good game and we moved the ball well.”
There are four games before the playoffs next Monday and the Screw Headz still have a chance to compete and make it to the Championship as well.
Though not common knowledge, all students are encouraged to attend the games. Student Amber Johnson said, “I just happened to be walking by and decided to check it out.”
Five-on-Five Basketball Tournament games are held every Monday and Wednesday at 3 p.m.
